So that is my small Explorer II collection. As I recall that one likes copper plated round nose High Speed ammo. The two later guns just ate them all down where as the older gun didn't like them all that much. I just had some Federal bulk with me the other day. They can also sometimes be picky feeders but that can usually be solved. If you have a gun that doesn't feed well change the magazine as the FEED RAMP is built into the magazine. My gunsmith was able to thread that section and then put on a threaded suppressor adapter which works well.Įach one of the guns has two magazines that work. One of the things I bought was a barrel that had been shortened and the sight reinstalled with a section of the turned down barrel sticking out past the sight. The collector had about every veriation of AR7 that there was including some custom stuff. This same shop had a AR7 collection cone in about 5 years ago. They are fun shooters and when the barrels are taken off are very small to put into a backpack. The little revolver has been sitting in its bag for years upon years. The third is an older gun with a darker grip. A friends Grandmother showed me her blued Charter Arms.38 Undercover. One of the other two has the same color grip and is fairly close in serial number range. This one being a 6" was too hard to pass up. I have two of the 8" versions and had a 10" which I sold to a friend. They came in three different barrel lengths, 6, 8 and 10. Was in a large local shop on Tuesday and saw an Explorer II priced well below what they have generally been asking for them.first one under $200 I have seen in person in a long time.and it looked hardly shot, LN condition and had the extra 8-round magazine in the buttrap.
